FREE TRAINING IN MASTERING BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TOOLS AT THIS YEAR'S ICT EXPO
Meet Takuya Kitazawa, our trainer for mastering business intelligence tools. Takuya Kitazawa is an ICT Advisor at Mzuzu E-Hub. Over the last decade, he has worked on software development, machine learning, data science, and product management for diverse businesses in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas at different scales ranging from independent to start-up to Big Tech.
At the intersection of technological and social aspects of data-driven applications, he is passionate about promoting the ethical and sustainable use of information technologies through his mentoring, business consultation, and public engagement activities.
FREE ITIL TRAINING AT THIS YEAR'S INTERNATIONAL ICT EXPO
Meet our ITIL trainer Charles Mazinga, who is an accomplished IT professional with over 10 years of experience in the Banking and Telecommunications industries. Coming from an academic background of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he immediately developed an inclination towards ICT working for Telekoms Networks Malawi where he rose from Graduate Trainee, VAS Engineer to Business Systems Manager before moving to Standard Bank as Business Engagement Manager. He currently works as Head of IT Infrastructure in Standard Bank, managing the Hardware, Networks and Platforms portfolios.
His ITIL journey started right from TNM where he was introduced to ITIL in 2013. He qualified in ITIL v3 and developed practical means of applying the ITIL Service Lifecycle Management model to his work as a Manager in ICT by 2015.
Transitioning to ITIL v4, he went further to renew his ITIL foundation qualification and further pursued the ITIL Managing Professional modules before qualifying as the second only ITIL Managing Professional in Malawi by then.
He is part of Information Systems Group (ISG), an IT Consulting and Capacity building company which so far remains the only Accredited Training Organization and, in addition, an Accredited Consulting Partner on ITIL in Malawi. He is the Lead Trainer in ITIL at ISG and has since trained over 100 Malawians in ITIL 4 Foundation.
He has built extensive practical knowledge in the application of ITIL best practices in the industry and his passion is around meeting the demands of Digital Transformation in a systematic way.
INTERNATIONAL ICT EXPO 2024
The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) will host the annual International ICT Expo from Thursday, the 09th of May – Friday, the 10th of May 2024 at the Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe, Malawi.
This year’s ICT Expo will be held under the theme “Digital Transformation: Gateway to economic empowerment”.
The International ICT Expo 2024 provides a platform for local and international firms to showcase innovative, unique, and diverse ideas, products, and services that have the proven or theoretical capacity to enhance resilience using digital tools and resources. We aim to bring together thought leaders across the entire ICT value chain to discuss digital solutions that the ICT industry can leverage to bring forth exponential growth within the business economy and the policies that govern it, as well as within similar disciplines founded on progressive and proactive strategies and results.

ICTAM is thankful to Malawi Research and Education Network - MAREN (https://maren.ac.mw/?page_id=154) for sponsoring this years AI Panel Discussion at ICTAM's 8th Annual General Meeting which will be held at Sunbird Nkopola from the 24th - 25th of November, 2023. The AI discussion will be about economic growth and how we can unlock Malawi's potential using Artificial Intelligence.
